A colleague in my department is working on this at the moment. The intention is for this to be available for the start of the new term in September. Incidentally the intention is to also have the "wireless printing" facility that students have been asking for, up and running for the start of the September term as well; essentially they both require the same software system to be updated. Many Thanks Peter Methven, Network Specialist, IT.

By wireless printing does this mean being able to print from a personal computer... that would be sweet but I imagine very complex

"Nice", this does mean printing from a personal laptop device to printers in certain areas of the campus. I think my colleague has found the "back-end" stuff is quite complex and an external contractor has been involved to speed things up. I've not yet seen how easy or not this will be to configure on personal laptops, but I'll document it when it is ready for students to use.

Just to correct my previous post; my colleaue has told me that the use of a contractor is part of the software package cost, not owing to the complexity of the system.
