Without knowing you or your background, it is difficult to pass comment.

From students I know studying Acturial Maths, it is a very intense course, but well repsected within the industry.

Whilst students on these boards can give you an idea of what it is like, everyones experience is based on their abilities. If I were you, contact the Department directly and ask to speak to their admissions tutor.

They should be happy to have an honest chat with you, and this will not affect the admissions process. In fact, making this personal contact will help. Neither would you wish to go through all the stress of starting something, only to discover it's not for you.
