Hey All, have to choose between Urban & Regnl Planning at HW and rural planning at Aberdeen ??? Much appreciate if anyone can tell me if the HW course / uni is good for study. Thanx M

WAY better at HW. Get a lot more realistic experience with lots of projects involving all different built environment sectors. Pretty sure we're higher in the leauge tables. Again, Urban AND regional is what you learn. Great lecturers and small class sizes too! Studying in Edinburgh is way more fun than Aberdeen too! The Uni campus is smaller and more friendly!

Hi,

I studied URP too. Good course, with really good staff. The UG has less student numbers (less than 10 in some years) so more tutorial type classes. That said, the PG is still comparatively small, so the teaching standard is still high.

With planning, obviously the UG gives you a more in depth knowledge, but to be honest there is quite a bit of padding. Those that I knew on the PG were quite happy with the content.

There is a fair mix of areas taught from the economics side of Estate Management through to social impact.

Overall, I would highly recommend us, but then again I may be biassed!

Good luck either way and hopefully see you at the Union soon...
